The story of Vienna Brookshaw and her parents is a testament to the lengths parents will go to ensure their child’s well-being. Born with Congenital Melanocytic Nevus (CMN), Vienna’s parents faced challenges and made difficult decisions to deal with concerns about her future. Their unwavering love and determination led them to seek medical help, despite the initial obstacles, in hopes of sparing Vienna potential suffering as she grew older. Thanks to community support and fundraising efforts, Vienna underwent surgery to remove her birthmark, allowing her to thrive without the burden of her condition. As Vienna continues to grow and flourish, her parents’ dedication to her health and happiness shines through, inspiring hope and admiration in others.
In addition to the usual efforts parents make to keep their children safe, these parents went above and beyond for their daughter. In April 2021, Vienna Brookshaw was born in the United Kingdom to her mother, Celine Casey.
Vienna had a birthmark between her eyebrows on her forehead that Casey had noticed when she first met her.
A Viennese mother worried that her birthmark, known as congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN), could cause her psychological problems as she aged, even though it had no negative physical effects. A baby with CMN is born with a swarm of benign pigment cells, which may have enlarged as Vienna grew.
Vienna suffers from an unusual disease, and no one could have predicted the extent to which the birthmark would increase with age. Vienna’s mother, Casey, didn’t want her to face any trouble as a result when she grew up.
