Experts found a Byzantine Empire necropolis in the Crimea where a giant’s tomb was located during archaeological investigations.
Archaeological excavation activity started nearby while the Mithridates stairway in Kerch underwent further repair.
This exposed a necropolis that was up to 100 square meters and contained the graves of persons who had visited the John the Baptist shrine.
There have been 27 found graves so far, including several twin and infant graves. in addition to additional components like bronze bracelets or pendants.
